This is one of my very most favorite cakes that I've made. I love it because it looked like a real Easter basket. The weaving was not easy and had to be done a couple of times before it was perfect, but it was worth the work. EVERYTHING on this cake was edible... the grass, the bunnies, and the handle. This cake was for two twins that my mom helps tutor. They loved it!
I am not going to take all the credit for this cake. Husband strikes again! He's so dang artistic that I can't help but recruit him to help me when I know there is something he'll do better than me. So, for this cake, he molded the dinosaurs and did all the finishing touches on the sign. The volcano was all me though, and not only did I love how it turned out, I love how it tasted. It's made out of Rice Krispies!
I love having free reign on a cake. A friend from Arizona asked me to make the cake for her daughter's wedding. She said the theme for the reception was April Showers and that they wanted the cake to be fun. I asked for the colors and she said fuchsia, lime and orange. Talk about fun! This is what I came up with...
My latest missionary cake. I still love this design and have to give April Goff all the credit for it. So clever!
